short film
Internationally acclaimed independent film production company Pihlmann Films hired me to create the production design for the short film Broke. Through the frame of a romantic-dramatic relationship developing between two teenagers, the plot tells the story of two Norwegian families belonging to different social classes.
Director Bjørn Eric Sørensen wanted to portray two distinctive family households - rich and poor - while sustaining an overall style of Scandinavian suburb aesthetics. Therefore I chose to use a cold and minimalistic, monochrome color scale, enriched with vivid and highlighting interior design elements.

Synopsis
In Scandinavia’s most affluent suburb, a teenager’s millionaire father is declared bankrupt causing the family unit to collapse. A pistol is hidden in a school bag. Rumors concerning the teenager´s father make the school day a painful struggle and the privileged status is challenged.
